With more than 500 employees throughout all the region, ESI prides itself by offering top quality products, services and personnel that meet customer needs and expectations.

Bill Kamarek founded Electronic Systems in 1980 with typewriter sales and service. ESI has continued to meet customer needs while keeping up with changing technology and driving the direction and growth of its business.

ESI enjoys long-standing relationships with the largest commercial and governmental organizations in Hampton Roads. These relationships reflect business with all ESI divisions. ESI is confident the longevity of these partnerships is a result of its attention to customer satisfaction, its ability to make local decisions customized to individual customer needs and the quality and quantity of its local resources.

Some of the resources that benefit ESI's customers include:
  •   The largest team of factory-trained technicians in Hampton Roads
  •   A warehouse for staging projects which prevents disruption at user site
  •   A parts stock and dedicated parts staff for quick repair turnaround
  •   18 networking engineers to assist with connectivity issues
  •   Local invoice and accounts receivable personnel for resolution of issues
      and customized processes
  •   A dedicated purchasing staff for providing product
  •   Financial strength to insure fulfillment of all aspects of the contract including
holding the leased assets on the internal ESI books
  •   A fleet of trucks and vans for deliveries and moves
  •   Local decision making ability

ESI became a part of Global Imaging Systems, a $900 million publicly traded company (GISX), in 1997. Global is focused on acquiring well-run office automation companies that can run independently of a national organization. Currently Global has companies in 30 states across the country.

The structure of ESI offers the best of both worlds for customers, a locally run company with local decision-making and the resources and financial backing of a large publicly traded company.
